COVID 19 UPDATE

Welcome to Ridge Physiotherapy & Pilates

If you concerned about Covid 10 transmission, I  offer three options which you can choose from:

PHYSIOTHERAPY

1. Face to face consultation

In the absence of any factors or vulnerabilities that would place you at high risk of being very ill if you were to catch Covid, physiotherapy assessment and treatment can be given face to face.

Please note that if you are ill, even just a cold, I ask you to wear a mask please, due to the high number of people I come into close contact with.  Without such measures I would be at risk of being unwell frequently, affecting my income. I would pass on Covid  to many others who may be vulnerable or in contact with vulnerable people.

2. Completely remote video consultations on Zoom.

Whilst there is no comparison to the benefits of hands on treatment, there is still the capacity online to help clients who would rather not attend face to face sessions.

After comprehensive questioning & observation of movement patterns of symptoms etc  a plan for treating and  advising clients can be drawn up.  Many problems can be treated identically to when seen in person, and resolved entirely.  Other problems can be dealt with sufficiently to keep them manageable,  until in person treatment is safe or feels comfortable to attend

Be reassured that all precautions are taken to make the consultation as safe as possible. I have had all Covid 19 vaccinations.

I am happy to discuss any  concerns or questions you may have at any stage.

3. Telephone consultations

For those who do not have a computer, a client can discuss their issues and get advice over the telephone. A very detailed medical history and description of the problem will be required. Naturally there are issues with not being able to see the person, but a reasonably good understanding can usually be gained nevertheless.  Where possible an initial Zoom session  is more ideal. Assistance can be  given on the telephone to help a client get to Zoom from a suitable phone or computer.

PILATES

Small groups of 5 maximum can attend Pilates.  Clients each occupy a 9m2 space. Mask are optional for clients, unless a group member requests otherwise. There are double doors either in the room or entrance area, which are kept open when appropriate.  The floor is laminated wood, and this along with any 'touch points' are disinfected daily. Mats and equipment are disinfected between classes.

Clients bring their own mat and head pads/cushions.  Any further equipment used is disinfected between clients. Please let me know before attending if you need to borrow a mat or cushions.

Lessons are in St Peter & Pauls's church hall, Stokenchurch, or individually at my studio in Bledlow Ridge.

On 08.05.20, I wrote a blog  which gives helpful information regarding how to look yourself during lockdown, with help where needed from Physiotherapy and Pilates.

As is mentioned on the blog post, I've been using Zoom during this lockdown, to carry out online consultations and Pilates sessions.  This is working well so far, I am always happy to consider any requests or ideas.
